In celebration of Kindness Day SG on 29 May, Changi Airport Group (CAG) had kindly appointed some staff members as Kindness Ambassadors to recognise and appreciate kind and gracious behaviour amongst Changi Airport’s passengers, airport visitors and its 40,000-strong airport community. Donned with the yellow gerbera daisy pin, SKM’s iconic symbol of appreciation, they roamed the terminals, spotting kind acts around the Airport. Those who were acknowledged received a Pay-it-Forward Card accompanied with a fresh yellow gerbera daisy. The cards aimed to encourage recipients to spread the impact of kindness by passing on the card to someone else who performed an act of kindness.  Through this initiative, CAG hopes to start a ripple effect of kindness in Changi Airport, in the hope of it spreading beyond.

One of the Kindness Ambassadors, Malligah Mohandas said, “It is really heart warming to see acts of kindness, no matter how small they are. I believe acknowledging this mindset would encourage others to be more conscious of kindness. As part of the airport community, it would also bring about a sense of belonging and camaraderie amongst airport staff.”

It was truly a meaningful event, where the message of kindness was reinforced and trickled down through the concerted efforts of the Kindness Ambassadors. Though it was a one day event, it was a rewarding experience for the Kindness Ambassadors who were motivated to continue with on-going display of kind and gracious behaviour. Making this event possible were Kindness Ambassadors from frontline Changi Experience Agents, Changi Youth Ambassadors, Changi Senior Ambassadors and participants from Airport Emergency Service, Commercial and Ground Operations.
