The Kindness Youth Dialogue is one of SKM’s flagship initiatives to reach out to youths by engaging them through a discussion of social issues. This year’s theme revolves around a widely debated topic, cyber wellness, and it is titled “On the Other Side of the Screen”.
Under the guise of anonymity and an inflated sense of empowerment, an increasing number of internet users have no qualms about using vulgarities, bullying, or flaming other users online. We have also witnessed instances of insensitive, racist, religiously offensive, and even defamatory remarks posted online, especially on social networking websites. Why are Internet users behaving in such disrespectful manner online?
