On 4 Feb 2015, Dr William Wan, General Secretary of the Singapore Kindness Movement, spoke at the Singapore Polytechnic (SP) Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) Annual Seminar on “Communicating Kindness at the Workplace”.

Dr Wan shared with 150 staff and students on how kindness can contribute to better personal health and a safer workplace. Research has shown that practicing acts of kindness increases our health quotient in so many different ways. And kindness given and received in the workplace helps reduce stress, fosters employee engagement and loyalty, and leads to happier workers.

Participants at the SP WSH Seminar each received a “5 Amazing Benefits of Being Kind” booklet written by Dr Wan
A group of students led participants in a self-composed song to promote workplace safety and health.

The programme ended with a prize presentation for winners of the SP WSH photo competition.
